Banking & Finance is one of our strongest practice areas and we are proud to say that is practically impossible to find a bank with foreign shareholders that has not been our client. We were the first to work on the privatization of local banks and are recognized for shaping legislative solutions in this respect in our market. We provide legal services to leading banks and advise on all matters related to financial services, as well as on the application of often imprecise regulations and how to act in risky situations. The banks are a favourite target for those looking to capitalise on construed interpretations and, therefore, we represent banks in various procedures conducted against them.
In area of Capital Markets we have worked with relevant foreign finance institutions offering various kinds of financing to local financial institutions and companies. It is worth mentioning that we were elected into the advisory panel of EIB, engaged by EBRD and IFC (both directly and as contractors of renowned international law firms), and a significant number of foreign commercial and investment banks. We also acted as advisors to legal entities receiving the financing, including levels of government, domestic banks, micro-credit organizations and companies.
